This is my first year celebrating Xmas In 13 years and my mum reckons I'm more excited than my kids are lol. My ex is still a jw and I can't bring my youngest up who is his with the excitement of Santa coming, coz my ex will destroy his fun and make me out to be a liar to my son. So we're doing everything except say the presents are from Santa. I have my tree and some decorations, I have done most of my present shopping and have them all wrapped, I'm at my mum's on Xmas eve and Xmas day to spend my kids first Xmas as a family

How do you feel about your JW childhood?
by Emily1987 ini was 5 years old when my mother was baptised.
we went from celebrating xmas to no presents or decorations.
we would still go to my unbelieving aunty's house on xmas day, all of my cousins would be playing with their new toys and would wonder why i didn't have any.

I remember being at an assembly and being on the first aid team for the first time and felt I was going to be useful until I was told that if a situation arises that the brother I'm on with takes the lead and I'm just there if he needs anything. I had 17 years worth of different first aid training courses and someone less qualified was to take the lead just for being male. I didn't volunteer again.
At a convention I noticed the "sisters" wearing blue vests instead of the usual fluorescent yellow ones they'd always worn so I asked why and someone told me she'd been told it's so no one thinks they're on an equal level with the brothers. She thought it was ridiculous but said "we just have to show submission".
When I was married I don't know how many times my ex said to me "I'm supposed to be head of the house!"
He even went through an article with me about marriage for family worship and at the end he said "it would be good if you could show more submission as Jehovah wants women to be submissive to their husbands and you're not submissive enough". I don't know how I stopped myself from packing his bags there and then.

Those awkward magazines
by Addison0998 ini’m sure we all remember those really weird, awkward magazines we were expected to place in service.
and it was before we are had the website or the thing on the back to fall back on.
imagine being a 12 year old girl, and having to place magazines on god’s view of pornography, sex, homosexuality.

I hid the awkward magazine inside the less awkward one and didn't discuss any subject I just said "we're leaving these magazines with people to have a read of" then I took my leave as quick as possible In case they opened the magazines and saw the subject

I love this from the atheists book of bible stories
Cain and Abel THE SACRIFICES
For some reason, these two boys got it into their heads that God liked gifts. There is no record of sacrifices prior to this point. The concept of sacrifice appears to be a later development that is transposed back on this ancient setting by a later writer. Where did Cain and Abel get this idea, and how did they know what to offer?
Particularly, how could they possibly have known that God preferred dead animals over vegetables? Actually, this whole preference seems to be backwards. You would think that God would not want his precious, freshly created animals to be slaughtered and hacked up. If anything, the produce of their farm would be humanity’s most valuable possession, and would therefore be the most valued sacrifice.
Let’s modernize this a bit. Imagine that you have two children. One of them picks a flower and presents it to his mother as a gift. The other one slits the dog’s throat and throws him on the barbie. Which is the good one?
I think God should rethink this part of the story, and make Abel the bad guy.
What do you think?

According to Dawkins book 'The God Delusion' I'm a defacto atheist because although I don't dismiss that there could be a higher power I think its highly improbable.

King of The North: circular news top?
by Gorbatchov infriends,.
with the circular speading of my satire tread about the annual meeting on many different ways, even informal across the jw organization, i'm pretty sure that the news about russia (new king of the north) is not real.. there was a moment i thought that it was a coïncidence that incoming messages mentioned it also.. now i suppose it started all with my op, went trending through the organization (even through bethel belgium) and became a story on it's own.. this is not realy my style and i'm not proud of it.. g..

I always thought false religion was supposed to be attacked first. Guess Russia attacking jw's could prove that jw's have a false religion because they always say Jehovah will protect them while false religion comes to an end.

Splash - that would make it easier for people tti fade because they could just link in on their laptop which would show up on the kh computer and then you just don't watch it. I did that once on the phone link just before I left because I'd said to someone I'd use the phone link...I didn t say I'd be listening though lol
